Childbirth classes are conducted at The Womb Room located at 915 W. 36th Street on The Avenue in Hampden (2nd Floor).

There are no Birth Boot Camp classes currently scheduled, but please see our other childbirth education options listed below. 

We also provide the following Childbirth Class options at The Womb Room:

  • 1 Day Childbirth Intensive- June 23 1-7pm
    • This 6 hour intensive is designed with busy families in mind and covers pregnancy, labor, birth, infant care, breastfeeding, and the postpartum period. You will learn about your birth options, practice positions to bring comfort during labor, and discuss how to prepare for the postpartum experience. You and your partner will leave informed of your choices and equipped with practical tools to support your birth!This class is interactive so bring a pillow and wear comfortable clothes. You'll receive double the fun and knowledge as this class will be co-taught by childbirth educators Katie Kirkpatrick and Carmen Calvo. Cost is $250 per couple.

 

  • Preparing for Birth, a 3-week seriesJuly 15, 22, & 29 6:30-8:30pm
    • Join us for a crash course on pregnancy, labor, birth, infant care, breastfeeding, and the postpartum period. During this 3 week class, you will connect with other families and work as a couple to determine your birth goals. You will leave informed of your choices and equipped with practical tools to support your birth.To help you feel even more confident as a parent, you will also practice infant CPR and choking relief.Week 1 - Anatomy, Minor discomforts & remedies during pregnancy, practice body conditioning exercises
      Week 2 - Labor & Birth, Pain theory, discuss birth options, practice comfort measures
      Week 3 - Infant care, CPR, breastfeeding, & the postpartum periodThis class is interactive so wear comfortable clothes. You will also receive a workbook to help you on your journey. Cost is $250 per couple. Dates are on Sundays - July 10, 22, & 29.  This class is taught by Katie Kirkpatrick, a doula, childbirth educator, AHA instructor, and placenta encapsulator with The Nurturing Root.

 

  • Comfort Measures for Labor- This 1 night class has the following upcoming dates: July 23, August 27, September 24, or October 22 from 7-9pm
    • Join Katie Kirkpatrick as we explore tools and techniques to keep mom comfortable during labor, as well as a variety of labor positions and their benefits. Partners will acquire skills and easy-to-use-tools to be able to effectively keep their laboring partner as comfortable and relaxed as possible in labor. We will conclude the class with discussion on the importance of relaxation in labor and a guided meditation exercise. Partners will approach their baby's due date feeling confident in supporting their partner in labor and during birth.

    • Join us for a crash course on pregnancy, labor, birth, infant care, breastfeeding, and the postpartum period.
